Lauren Fleshman is a former American track and field athlete. She was the 5,000-meter champion of the United States in 2006 and 2010, and competed at the IAAF World Athletic Championships in 2003, 2005 and 2011. In the 5,000-meter final at the World Championships. IAAF 2011, she was ranked 7th, beating the highest ever by an American woman in the event. She participates in many medium and long distance competitions, from 1,500 meters and miles to 5,000 meters. She made her marathon debut on November 6, 2011 at the ING New York City Marathon, finishing 12th. She trained in Eugene, Oregon as part of the professional team sponsored by Nike Oregon Track Club Elite until 2012, when she joined Oiselle, a garment company focused on promotion and the support of female athletes, when she separated from Nike. She currently lives in Bend, Oregon with her husband, professional triathlon athlete Jesse Thomas, their son Jude Eiger Thomas and a young daughter.
