Linet Chepkwemoi Masai is a Kenyan long-distance runner who competes in track and field and cross-country tournaments. She won her first world title in 10,000 meters at the 2009 World Athletics Championships. Masai became the 2007 World Youth Championships and set the youth record at 10,000 meters at the Summer Olympics. from 2008, ranked 4th overall. In 2017, she received an Olympic bronze medal after initial silver medalist Elvan Abeylegesse tested positive for a banned steroid during doping sample review in 2007, so Masai became female. Kenya won for the first time a medal in the 10,000m Olympic one event. She was a finalist at the IAAF World Championships three consecutive times from 2009 to 2011. At the 2011 World Championships, she won her second world medal in athletics, placing number one.
