She also ran Practical Patchwork Company, a home bed linen business in her home in Wabash, Indiana, for over thirty years. Webster's quilted quilt influenced modern cotton quilt designs of the early 20th century. His quilts have been exhibited in museums and painting exhibitions in the United States and Japan. The Indianapolis Museum of Art holds the largest collection of his quilts in the United States. Webster was inducted into the Quilters Hall of Fame in 1991. Marie Webster's Home, her former residence in Marion, Indiana, was listed on the National Register of Historic Sites in 1992, designated a National Historic Site in 1993, and has served as the residence of the current Quilters Hall of Fame.
