Thomas Mark Harmon is an actor, producer, director, voice actor and former defender of American football. He is known for playing the lead role Leroy Jethro Gibbs in NCIS. He has also appeared in a variety of roles since the early 1970s. Originally a college football player, his role was at St. John's. Character actor, he played the role of Secret Agent Simon Donovan in The West Wing, which received an Emmy Award nomination in 2002 for his performance in a four-episode story. NCIS Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs' Harmon was introduced as the main guest on two episodes of JAG. Since 2003, Harmon has starred in NCIS with the same character.
