Martha Cooper is an American photojournalist born in the 1940s in Baltimore, Maryland. She was a photographer for the New York Post in the 1970s. She is best known for documenting scenes of graffiti in New York City in the 1970s and 1980s. In 1984, Cooper and Henry Chalfant published their photos of New York graffiti in the Book of Train Art. The metro, known as the graffiti bible and in 2009 had sold half a million copies.
