Melissa Anne Rosenberg is an American writer, television producer and screenwriter. She worked in film and television and won the Peabody Prize. She was also nominated for two Emmy Awards and two Writers Guild of America Awards. Since joining the American Writers 'Association, she has served on its board of directors and served as the shock captain during the strike of the American Writers' Association in 2007–2008. She supports female screenwriters through the WGA Diversity Commission and co-founded the Federation of Hollywood Women Writers. She worked on a number of dramas from 1993 to 2003 before joining The OC's scriptwriters team, eventually leaving the series to write Step Up in 2006. From 2006 to 2009 She was the screenwriter of the Showtime Dexter series, becoming executive producer when she left at the end of the fourth season.
