Anderson is the American actor best known for his role as A Man From Elsewhere in David Lynch's Twin Peaks television series, the series' prequel, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, and as Samson Leonhart in the HBO series. Carnivàle. He suffers from an imperfect genetic disease of bone formation, a condition that results in frequent long fractures and poor healing, leaving him as small as 3 feet 7 inches tall. Prior to his acting career, Anderson worked as a computer technician for Martin Marietta, working on NASA's Space Shuttle Ground Support System. He appeared as himself in a 1984 documentary titled Little Mike: A Videoportrait by Michael Anderson.
