Nancy Holder is an American writer and author of several novels, including many related to the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She has also written novels related to a number of other science fiction and fantasy programs, including Angel and Smallville. Holder is a four-time Bram Stoker Award winner for his outstanding record in horror writing. She won the 1991 Best Short Story award for "Lady Madonna", in 1993 for "I Hear the Mermaids Singing" and in 1994 for "Cafe Endless: Spring Rain". She won the award for best novel in 1994 for the film Dead in the Water. Other Nancy Holder books include the "Wicked" series, about a family feud between a clan of witches named Cahors and a clan of mages named Devereux. Holder's birth name is Nancy Lindsay Jones in Los Altos, California on August 29, 1953. Growing up in California and Japan, Nancy dropped out of school at age 16 to become a ballet dancer in Germany.
