Nicole Miller is an American fashion designer and businesswoman. Miller attended the Rhode Island School of Design, where she holds a bachelor's degree in costume design. She studied for a year at the Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, where she trained in fabric pleating and studied classic sewing techniques. Miller describes his training in Paris as "intense", but explains that it gave him training in tissue manipulation, which has become a prominent feature of his designs. Miller's first store opened in 1986 on Madison Avenue. The brand currently has 20 stores in major cities across the US. and sold in some high-end department stores. Miller designs an extensive collection for J.C. Penney and a furniture collection for Bed, Bath and Beyond. As for his style, the designer said, "I've always been in the city center and upscale neighborhoods. I have a lot of artist friends and I've always been a bit of a rebellious person."
