Norman Percevel Rockwell is an American painter and illustrator. His works have widespread appeal in the United States because they reflect American culture. Rockwell is best known for the everyday life cover illustrations he has created for The Saturday Evening Post magazine for nearly five decades. Some of Rockwell's most famous works include the Willie Gillis series, Rosie the Riveter, The Problem We All Live With, Say Grace and the Four Freedoms series. He is also known for his 64-year relationship with the American Boys Scout Association, in which he produced covers for Boys' Lives, calendars and other illustrations. These works include popular images reflecting the Scout Oath and Scout Law such as The Boy Scout, The Boy Scout Is Venerable, and The Scout Hand, among others. Norman Rockwell is a prolific artist, creating over 4,000 original works during his lifetime. Most of his surviving works are in public collections.
