Raffi Torres
Raphael Torres is a former Canadian professional ice hockey left winger. He was drafted by the New York Islanders who placed fifth overall in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. He played in the National Hockey League for the New York Islanders, Edmonton Oilers, Columbus Blue Jackets, Buffalo Sabers, Vancouver Canucks, Phoenix Coyotes and San Jose Sharks. Torres was retired from the Ontario Hockey Federation, where he played three seasons with the Brampton Battalion. He was twice the OHL All-Star Second Team throughout his career. From 2001-2002, he moved professionally with the American Hockey League affiliate of the Islanders. He had two best seasons in the AHL before the Islanders traded him to the Oilers in 2003. He played five seasons in Edmonton, becoming a full-time NHL player for the club. He recorded career numbers as an oiler in 2005-06 and helped them reach the Stanley Cup final that year.
