James Ralph "Shug" Jordan is an American football, basketball and baseball player, as well as a soccer and basketball coach. He served as head football coach at Auburn University from 1951 to 1975, where he set a record 176–83–6. He is the man with the most coaching wins of any coach in Auburn Tigers football history. Jordan's Auburn team in 1957 was unbeaten with a 10-0 record and was named the national champion by the Associated Press. Jordan is also the head coach of men's basketball at Auburn and the University of Georgia, with a college basketball record of 136-103. While a basketball coach, he also served as an assistant soccer coach at both schools. Auburn's Jordan-Hare Stadium was renamed in honor of Jordan in 1973. Jordan was introduced into the College Football Fame Hall of Fame as a coach in 1982
