René Goscinny is a French editor and comic book writer who created the Asterix comic series with illustrator Albert Uderzo. Raised mostly in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he attended French schools, he spent some time in the United States. There, he met Belgian designer Morris. After he returned to France, they collaborated for more than 20 years on the Lucky Luke comic series He wrote Iznogoud with Jean Tabary. Goscinny also wrote a series of children's books called Le Petit Nicolas.
