About Salvador Espriu
Spanish, Catalan-language poet, dramatist, and novelist who published La pell de brau in 1960. His other well-known works include Aspectes and Llibre de Sinera.
He studied ancient history and law at the University of Barcelona.
He was associated with a Catalan, anti-modernist literary movement known as Noucentisme.
He was the son of a lawyer and spent his childhood mostly in Barcelona and Arenys de Mar.
He was, according to literary critic Harold Bloom, a superb author who should have been awarded the Nobel Prize in poetry.
