Steve Purcell
Steven Ross Purcell is an American animator, animator, game designer and voice actor. He is best known as the creator of Sam & Max, an independent comic book series about two humanoid policemen and private investigators, for which Purcell received the Eisner Prize. In 2007. From being comic books, the series has evolved to incorporate a series of animated films and several video games. A graduate of the California College of Arts and Crafts, Purcell began a career in creating comics for college bulletin boards. He worked as a freelance writer for Marvel Comics and Fishwrap Productions before publishing his first Sam & Max comics in 1987. Purcell was hired by LucasArts as an artist and animator in 1988, working on a number of game titles at the era of corporate adventure games. Purcell partnered with Nelvana to create a Sam & Max television series in 1997, and briefly hosted for Industrial Light & Magic after leaving LucasArts.
