Villa Diaz's Teodoro "Teddy" is a Filipino musician and songwriter, best known as the founder and original guitarist of The Dawn. As a songwriter, he co-wrote the band's first single "Enveloped Ideas" and their popular hit "Salamat", released later in 1989. He played guitar on the albums The Dawn and I Stand With You. In addition to being a guitarist, he also played the keyboard as recorded on The Dawn's debut album in 1986. At the height of his career and at the height of The Dawn's popularity in the late 1980s, he played was stabbed to death by two passers-by at the door of his girlfriend, who was allegedly addicted to drugs and alcohol.
