Maria Teresa de Almeida Salgueiro OIH is a Portuguese singer. She is known as the lead singer of Madredeus from 1987 to 2007. She also played the role of actress in the film Lisbon Story by Wim Wenders. Along with the group's activities, Teresa released the album Obrigado - in collaboration with various artists such as José Carreras, Caetano Veloso, Angelo Branduardi and many more. In 2007, she recorded two albums in collaboration with Septet João Cristal and Lusitânia Ensemble, exploring various musical universes demonstrating her versatility as a performer. She maintained, with these two projects and for two years, a regular concert in Europe, Brazil and Mexico. Also in 2007, at the invitation of Polish composer Zbigniew Preisner, she joined as lead solo singer on the album Silence Night and Dreams. With this concert, making her debut at the Acropolis in Athens, she performed in several European cities such as Paris, London or Płock.
