Tobias Sammet is a German musician, singer, songwriter, music producer and radio presenter best known as the founder of the Avantasia metal opera project and singer and songwriter power metal music Edguy. Sammet founded Edguy in 1992 with his classmates. Under the musical influence of AC / DC, Freddie Mercury and Helloween, the typical power metal sound of his band, in which he mainly played the role of singer and striker, emerged. After several tours and positions with Edguy, Sammet founded his All-Star Avantasia project and released a metal opera under this name. Initially planned as a once-in-a-lifetime studio project, he launched Avantasia again in 2006 and since then has regularly produced concept albums and rock opera. When he was invited to join the evening show on the main stage with Avantasia at the Wacken Open Air in 2008, he decided to stage his side project. Since then, he has toured regularly in North and South America, Asia and Europe with Edguy and Avantasia.
