Tony Charles McPhee is an English blues guitarist and founder of The Groundhogs. This early version of the band supported champions Jack Dupree and John Lee Hooker at UK gigs in the mid-1960s. They are often referred to as "Tony McPhee". It was given this name by producer Mike Vernon, who suggested adding “T.S.”. became his name when McPhee released a duet single with Champion Jack Dupree in 1966 titled "Get Your Head Happy !," to make it an official blues name. It means Tough Shit. Groundhogs evolved into a blues-rock trilogy that created three UK hits in the UK's Top 10 Albums in the early 1970s. Although they continued to perform in various bands until Today, McPhee officially withdrew from the band in 2015. Tony McPhee's The Two Sides solo album was released in 1973
