William Westmoreland
William Childs Westmoreland was a general in the US Army, in particular commanding US forces during the Vietnam War from 1964 to 1968. He held the position of Chief of Staff of the United States Army from 1968 on 1972. Westmoreland adopted their strategy against the Viet Cong and the North Vietnamese army, trying to drain their army and supplies.
