Amon Amarth é uma banda sueca de death metal melódico de Tumba, formada em 1992. A banda leva seu nome do nome sindarin de Mount Doom, um vulcão na Terra-média de J. R. R. Tolkien. Suas letras lidam principalmente com a mitologia e a história Viking, e por isso eles foram ligados ao metal Viking, embora a própria banda prefira ser chamada de death metal melódico. A banda é composta pelo guitarrista principal Olavi Mikkonen, vocalista Johan Hegg, baixista Ted Lundström, guitarrista base Johan Söderberg e baterista Jocke Wallgren. Amon Amarth lançou onze álbuns de estúdio, um álbum de compilação, um EP, um álbum de vídeo e dez videoclipes. Seu primeiro álbum de estúdio, Once Sent from the Golden Hall, estreou em 1998.
