Adam Matthew Vinatieri is an American football scorer, an independent agent. He played in the National Football Federation for 24 seasons with the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts. Considered one of the greatest forwards in tournament history, he is the NFL's all-time leading scorer with 2,673 points. He also holds the NFL record for most field goals, most post-season points and most overtime goals. Vinatieri joined the Patriots as an untrained independent player in 1996, where he played 10 seasons and was a member of the Colts for 14 years. Four-time Super Bowl winner - three with the Patriots and one with the Colts - he has the most Super Bowl wins against a football player. He is also the only player to score 1,000 points for two different teams. As of 2020, at the age of 48, Vinatieri is the longest-serving active NFL player, the third-oldest of all time, and the only active player whose career began in the 1990s.
