Edward Alexander MacDowell is a Late Romance American composer and pianist. He is best known for his second piano concerto and piano sets Woodland Sketches, Sea Pieces and New England Idylls. Woodland Sketches included their most famous short film, "To a Wild Rose". In 1904, he was one of the first seven Americans to be named a member of the American Academy of Literature and Arts.
