Hakan Altun is a Turkish singer, songwriter and instrumentalist. He was born in Istanbul. After graduating from elementary school, he received a place at the Music Academy, where he completed middle school, high school and university studies, under the support of his grandfather Hafız Zeki Altun. After earning a Bachelor of Music in Arts, he continued his studies focusing on traditional Turkish music. During his second year of graduation, he left to pursue a career as a musical instrument at the Bang Edirne Choir, playing the lute. Before taking a break to fulfill his mandatory military service in Ankara, he performed in the most popular clubs in Istanbul. In television interviews, he said he composed his first song "Hani Bekleyecektin" when he enlisted, prompted by his girlfriend refusing to speak to him on the phone. After his debut album of the same name, he released Ağlamak Yok Yüreğim, Nefesimsim, Yaralı Bir Aşkın Öyküsü, Hediye and, Küstüm Aşklara among other albums.
