Holmes was the author of the song "Dazed and Confused", which was later remade by Led Zeppelin and lit up. the music for the US Army jingle "Be All That You Can Be" in the 1980s. The tinkling sound and advertising campaign that followed was widely used by the US government throughout the years. 1980. Holmes also wrote the song "I'm A Pepper" and together with Randy Newman co-wrote the "The most original soft drink ever" jingle for Dr Pepper.
