Julen Lopetegui Agote is a former Spanish football player and manager and current manager of Sevilla FC. As a goalkeeper, he played 149 La Liga appearances in nine seasons, representing Real Madrid, Logroñés, Barcelona and Rayo Vallecano in the competition. He made an additional 168 appearances at Segunda División for three clubs, won the option for Spain and was part of the squad at the 1994 World Cup. Lopetegui started as manager in 2003 and has for several years leading the Spanish youth teams, leading Under the -19 and U21 teams to European titles. He was also the head coach of the senior national team for two years, but was fired before the 2018 World Cup began after news of his agreement to join Real Madrid after the tournament. In club football, he led Rayo Vallecano, Castilla, Porto, Real Madrid and Sevilla, winning the 2020 Europa League championship with the latter team.
