Originally from Mexico City and a former student of UNAM and Instituto Andres Soler, Escalante first became known around the world as a stand-alone actor, developing characters like "Nancy Aerobics", "Chu-Ly", "Dona Lucha" and "Liboria", a policewoman. Her international appeal has brought her from several television series such as Humor es ... los comedy, Al ritmo de la noche, Al fin de semana and Otro rollo to television shows in Western speaking countries.
