Zenas Winsor McCay is an American entertainer and entertainer. He is known for the Little Nemo comic book and the animated film Gertie the dinosaur. For contractual reasons, he worked under the pseudonym Silas on the Dream of the Rarebit Fiend comic book series. From an early age, McCay was an agile, prolific and skillful artist. He began his professional career as a poster designer and interpreter for coin museums, and in 1898 he began to draw illustrations for newspapers and magazines. In 1903 he joined the New York Herald, where he created famous comics such as Little Sammy Sneeze and Dream of the Rarebit Fiend. In 1905 his feature film Little Nemo in Slumberland debuted - an Art Nouveau fantasy about a boy and his dreams of adventure. This strip demonstrates McCay's strong graphic feel and mastery of linear color and perspective.
