She has twice won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress, for the Woody Allen films Hannah and Her Sisters and Bullets over Broadway, and has appeared in three other Allen films: The Purple Rose of Cairo, Radio Days and September. Other Wiest movies appearing include Footloose, The Lost Boys, Bright Lights, Big City, Edward Scissorhands, Little Man Tate, The Birdcage, Practical Magic, Dan in Real Life, Synecdoche, New York, Rabbit Hole, Sisters, Let Them All Talk and I care a lot. Wiest received an Oscar nomination for Parenthood and won a Golden Globe Award for Bullets over Broadway. She won the 1997 Primetime Emmy Award for Best Guest Actress in the Television Series Road to Avonlea and the 2008 Primetime Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Television Series for In Treatment. His other TV credits include Law & Order and the CBS comedy series Life in Pieces.

Actress who won Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actress for her roles in the Woody Allen films Hannah and Her Sisters (1986) and Bullets over Broadway (1994). She also won Emmys for her roles in the television shows Road to Avonlea and In Treatment.
