Astrology Birth Chart of Edward VI

Edward VI was King of England and Ireland from January 28, 1547 until his death in 1553. He ascended the throne on February 20 at the age of 9. Edward was the son of Henry VIII and Jane Seymour, and was the first monarch of England to be brought up to Protestantism. During his reign, the kingdom was run by a council of regents because it never reached maturity. The first Council was led by his uncle Edward Seymour, the First Duke of Somerset, then John Dudley, the First Count of Warwick, who from 1551 was the Duke of Northumberland. Edward's reign was marked by economic problems and social unrest, and in 1549 the outbreak of riot and rebellion. A costly war with Scotland, initially successful, ended with the withdrawal of troops from Scotland and Boulogne-sur-Mer in exchange for peace. The transformation of the Church of England into a trusted Protestant body also took place under Edward, who was very concerned with religious matters.

King Edward VI, the third monarch of the Tudor dynasty, controlled England and Ireland during a period of struggle and rebellion. He was a pivotal figure in the Church of England's change from a primarily Catholic to a predominantly Protestant institution.
