Astrology Birth Chart of Sylvia Likens

The murder of Sylvia Likens is a murder of children in Indianapolis, Indiana, in October 1965. Likens, at the age of 16, was abused, tortured and murdered by his caregiver, Gertrude Baniszewski, many children of Baniszewski and the friends of their neighbors. The abuse gradually persisted for three months before Likens died of serious injuries and malnutrition on October 26. Baniszewski; His eldest daughter, Paula; His son, John; and two young neighbors, Coy Hubbard and Richard Hobbs, were both tried and convicted in May 1966 for neglecting, torturing and killing Likens. During the trial of the defendants, Assistant District Attorney Leroy New described the case as "the most frightening case ever brought to court or jury" and Gertrude's defense attorney William C. Erbecker described Likens having suffered from "committing to behave like a dog before his death.

Unfortunately, this sixteen-year-old girl was murdered by her temporary guardian, Gertrude Baniszewski, and two of Baniszewski's children (along with two neighborhood boys who assisted in the killing). Shock, malnutrition from intentional starvation, and a traumatic brain damage all played a role in her death.
