Lina Marcela Medina de Jurado is a Peruvian who has become the youngest confirmed mother in history at the age of 5 years, seven months and 21 days. According to the medical reviews of her pregnancy, when pregnant she was under 5 years old. She is also the youngest recorded case of precocious puberty.

Medically confirmed as the youngest woman in history to give birth; she was just five years and seven months old at the time of the birth.
After her family noticed her stomach bulging, they took her to a doctor believing that it was a tumor, but tests showed the girl was pregnant.
Medical tests revealed Lina was ovulating when she was 8 months old, due to a developmental disorder, but the family did not allow any more tests to be performed on her or her child.
Her son, Gerardo, a healthy boy, was delivered via Caesarian section. He was raised as Lina's younger brother until he was told the truth at age 10. She later married Raul Jurado.
Englishwoman Louise Brown had her own birth-related claim to fame several decades later as the world's first baby fertilized in vitro.
