Derrick Thomas
Derrick Vincent Thomas, nicknamed D.T., is an American defender and full-back for the Kansas City National Football League captain. Thomas played college football in Alabama and was ranked fourth in the 1989 Draft NFL by Chiefs, where he spent his entire 11-season career until his death in 2000. Considered one of the greatest obstacles of all time, he received nine Pro Bowl tournaments and three All-Pro first-team picks, in addition to holding the record for most assists in a single game is Sep. After the Chiefs' 1999 season ended, Thomas was involved in a car accident that left him paralyzed from the chest down. A few days later, he died of a blood clot that developed in his paralyzed leg and moved to the lungs, causing pulmonary embolism.
