Joko Anwar
Joko Anwar is an Indonesian director, producer, screenwriter and actor. Before becoming a filmmaker, he worked as a journalist and film critic. Anwar first emerged as a result of co-writing Nia Dinata's 2003 hit, Arisan! has won five Citra Award 2004. He then began directing feature films with the romantic comedy Joni's Promise in 2005, winning the Best Director nomination at the 2005 Citra Awards. since then, he has directed a variety of genres: dark horror film Dead Time: Kala, psychological thriller The Forbidden Door, supernatural thriller Satan's Slaves and real-life superhero Gundala. Anwar won three Citra awards out of 13 nominations for director and screenwriter. He has twice won the best director award: in 2015 for the urban drama A Copy of My Mind and in 2020 for the folk horror film Impetigore as well as an award for best screenplay of the year. 2008 for the co-creation of Fiksi de Mouly Surya.
