His big breakout role was Ryoma Echizen in the live-action film adaptation of The Tennis Prince and gained even more popularity when he was cast as Shin in Nana 2. On television, the role was remarkable. His best idea is Hinata from Himitsu no Hanazono and he is the main character in Seigi no Mikata. For the adaptation of the live-action feature film Attack on Titan, he played the role of Armin Arlert. He also participated in the voiceover of the anime as the main character Ryōta Sakamoto in Btooom !. He is sometimes incorrectly credited as Sōta Hongō.
