He holds No. 1 for a total of 64 months, the highest number of male players in table tennis history. Ma was born in Anshan, Liaoning, China. He has won a record 5 consecutive ITTF World Tour tournaments, including 35 sets and a total of 28 ITTF World Tour titles. Since 2014, he is the captain of the Chinese national men's table tennis team. After a clear victory in the men's singles at the 2016 Rio Olympics, Ma Long became the fifth player to complete the Grand Slam of his career, alongside Jan-Ove Waldner and Liu Guoliang, Kong Linghui and Zhang Jike. In addition, he became the first male tennis player in the world to win all men's singles titles. These records have led many to consider him the greatest player of all time.
