Miguel Ortiz Berrocal is an award-winning Spanish abstract and symbolic sculptor. He is famous for his puzzle sculptures, which can be broken apart into abstract pieces. These pieces are also known for miniature pieces of art and jewelry that are incorporated or hidden inside, and the fact that some sculptures can be reassembled or reconfigured into different arrangements. Berrocal's sculptures span a wide range of physical sizes, from monumental outdoor public buildings to intricate carvings small enough to be worn as pendants, bracelets, or other adornments on the body. From 1967 to 2004, Berrocal worked in Verona, Italy, and neighboring Negrar, where he worked closely with sculptors to produce his works. His work has been exhibited widely throughout Europe and also in North and South America and Japan. In 2004 he returned to his hometown in Spain, continuing to work in the arts until his sudden death in 2006
