Jorge Loriga Torrenova, better known as Ray Loriga, is a Spanish author, screenwriter and director. His first novel was Lo Peor de todo, published in 1992, then Héroes in 1993. Caídos del Cielo - La pistola de mi hermano is his first novel published in English, and he made a film based on it in 1997. the same year, he worked with Pedro Almodóvar and Jorge Guerricaechevarria to produce the screenplay for Carne Trémula, also directed by Almodóvar. The screenplay is based on the 1986 novel of the same name by British writer Ruth Rendell. His second novel published in English is Tokio ya no nos quiere. Loriga married Spanish-Danish singer and songwriter Christina Rosenvinge in 1989. In April 2017, Loriga received the Alfaguara Prize for her novel Rendición. It is one of the most financially awarded Spanish Literature Prizes. His latest novel, Sábado, domingo, was published in February 2019
