Ronald Scott Stevens is a former professional Canadian ice hockey player and coach. As a defenseman, Stevens played 22 seasons in the National Hockey League for the Washington Capitals in St. John's. Louis Blues and New Jersey Devils, captain of the Devil from 1992 to 2004. Despite his good offensive skills, his defensive play and his physical test are heavy. The adversary is the decisive factor in its success. Stevens began his career with the Capitals, where he helped the team qualify for the Stanley Cup for the first time. After a season playing for the Blues, he was acquired by the Reds through the referee. Improving the team's defensive mentality, he led the Devil to the Stanley Cup finals four times in nine years, winning three of them. In 2000, he won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the best player in the 2000 Stanley Cup knockout round. Despite the team's success with the Devil, he never won the James Norris Memorial Cup in as the tournament's top defensive player.
