Horace Ward Martin Tavares Silver is an American jazz pianist, composer and composer, particularly in the hard bop style which he helped pioneer in the 1950s. After playing tenor saxophones and pianos in the Connecticut school , Silver began playing the piano when his trio was recruited by Stan Getz in 1950.
