John Leslie Mackie is an Australian philosopher. He made important contributions to religious philosophy, metaphysics, and linguistic philosophy, and is perhaps best known for his ethical view of ethics, especially the defense of moral skepticism. He wrote six books. His best known, Ethics: invented good and evil, begins by boldly declaring: "There is no objective value".
