Mollie Katzen is an American cookbook artist and author. She is best known for her eerily illustrated, handwritten vegetarian classics, the Moosewood cookbook and the enchanting Broccoli Forest. Since then, she has written and illustrated a number of other books, including three famous children's cookbooks, Pretend Soup, Honest Pretzels and Salad People. In 2007, the Moosewood Cookbook was inducted into the James Beard Cookbook Hall of Fame. In 2017, his original notebooks, correspondence, and manuscript pages were collected by the Smithsonian Institution and are now permanently housed in the Archives Center of the National History Museum in the United States.
