William Peter Blatty
William Peter Blatty is an American writer, director and producer. Known for his 1971 novel The Exorcist, he won an Oscar for a screenplay adaptation and was nominated for Best Film as Producer. The film also won Blatty the Golden Globe for Best Picture as Producer. He also wrote and directed the sequel The Exorcist III. After the success of The Exorcist, Blatty remade Twinkle, Twinkle, "Killer" Kane! in a new novel called The Ninth Configuration, published in 1978. Two years later, Blatty transformed the novel into a movie of the same name directed by him and won an award for best screenplay and nominated for best film at the 38th Golden Globe Awards. Some of his other notable works are Elsewhere, Dimiter, and Crazy novels.
