Jeffrey Robert MacDonald is a retired American doctor and US Army officer who was convicted in August 1979 for the murder of his pregnant wife and two daughters in February 1970. MacDonald still declares himself innocent in the murders he claims being committed by four intruders - three of the men, a woman - who broke into his home and attacked him, his wife and others, his children using tools such as knives, sticks and hoes . Prosecutors and appellate courts presented strong physical evidence proving his guilt. He is currently in custody at the Federal Corrections Institute in Cumberland, Maryland. MacDonald's murder remains one of the most pursued murders in American crime history.
