César Augusto Cielo Filho is a competitive Brazilian swimmer specializing in sprint events. He is the most successful Brazilian swimmer in history, having won three Olympic medals, six individual gold medals at the World Championship and broke two world records. Cielo currently holds the world record for 100-meter and 50-meter free content. Her gold medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics, in the 50-meter freestyle competition, is Brazil's only Olympic gold medal in swimming to date.
