Edmund Goulding is an English screenwriter and director. A young entry actor, he was one of the "ghosts" of the 1922 silent film Three Live Ghosts alongside Norman Kerry and Cyril Chadwick. Also in the early 1920s, he wrote several scripts for the star Mae Murray for the films directed by Robert Z. Leonard, husband at the time. Goulding is best remembered for directing hit dramas like Love, Grand Hotel with Greta Garbo and Joan Crawford, Dark Victory with Bette Davis and The Razor's Edge with Gene Tierney and Tyrone Power. He also directed the classic Noir Nightmare Alley starring Tyrone Power and Joan Blondell, and the action film The Dawn Patrol. He is also a successful musician, composer and producer.
