John McVie
John Graham McVie is an English bass player, best known as a member of the rock band John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers from 1964 to 1967 and Fleetwood Mac from 1967. His last name, combined with the name Mick Fleetwood, which is the inspiration for the name of the band. . He joined Fleetwood Mac shortly after being founded by guitarist Peter Green in 1967, replacing temporary bassist Bob Brunning. McVie and Fleetwood were the only two band members to appear in every version of Fleetwood Mac, and for over fifty years were the last remaining original band members. In 1968, McVie married pianist and blues singer Christine Perfect, who joined Fleetwood Mac two years later. John and Christine McVie divorced in 1977, but still have a good relationship. During this time, the group recorded the album Rumors, a huge artistic and commercial success which borrowed its title from the chaos of the marriage and the relations between McVie and the other members of the group.
