Jehangir Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata is an Indian pilot, industrialist and businessman and president of the Tata group. Born into an Indian Tata family, he is the son of the famous businessman Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata and his wife Suzanne Brière. His mother was the first woman in India to drive a car and in 1929 he became the first licensed driver in India. He is also known as the founder of several industries within the Tata Group including Tata Consultancy Services, Tata Motors, Titan Industries, Tata Salt, Voltas and Air India. In 1983 he was awarded the Order of Difference of France and in 1955 and 1992 he received two of the highest Indian civil distinctions, Padma Vibhushan and Bharat Ratna. These honors were bestowed upon him for his contributions to Indian industry.
