Mir Masoom Ali is an American statistician from Bangladesh, professor emeritus, teacher, researcher and author. He immigrated to the United States in 1969 and naturalized in 1981. Ali established graduate and graduate programs in statistics at Ball State University. He co-founded the Midwest Biopharmaceutical Statistics Conference, held annually at Ball State University since 1978, and is co-sponsored by the American Statistical Association. He has served as editor-in-chief and deputy editor of several international statistical journals. He is the founding chairman of Bangladesh's North American Statistical Association and advisory board member of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology. In 2002, Ali received the Sagamore of the Wabash Prize, the most noble title awarded by the Governor of the State of Indiana, United States, Frank O'Bannon, for his contributions to Ball State University, to higher education. studied in Bang, and more specifically, in the profession of statistics.
