Anna Elizabeth Dickinson is an American speaker and lecturer. An advocate for slavery and women's rights, Dickinson was the first woman to deliver a political speech to the United States Congress. A very talented speaker at a very young age, she helped the Republican Party in the rigorous elections of 1863 and had a significant influence on the distribution of political power in the Union shortly before the Civil War. Dickinson was the first white woman to reach the top of Grey's Peak, Lincoln Peak and Elbert Peak, Colorado, and she was the second person to reach the top of Pike's Peak.
